Ingredients and Instruction

  • 3 tablespoons longan
  • 3 tablespoons wolfberries
  • 2 tablespoons of dried chrysanthemum
  • 5 tablespoons of rock sugar
  • 1 tablespoon agar-agar powder
  • 1.5L water
  1. Clean chrysanthemum flower and dried longan with running water.
  2. Mix agar-agar powder, rock sugar and water together in a pot.
  3. Add dried longan, chrysanthemum flowers and wolfberries.
  4. Stir and bring to boil under medium heat.
  5. Lower the heat and stir continuously for another minute.
  6. Pour the agar-agar into mould or bowl and leave the jellies to set in fridge for few hours before serve.

Ingredients and Instruction

  • 1/2 cup mung bean
  • 1/3 cup white rice
  • 1/2 cup dried lily bulb / 2 pieces of fresh lily bulb
  • 10 cups of water
  • Honey (Optional)
  1. Wash all the mung bean, white rice and lily bulb.
  2. Boiled 10 cups water in a pot.
  3. Add all the ingredients and turn to low heat when it is boiled. Continue to cook around 40-50 minutes.
  4. Served after cool. Add honey if necessary.

3. Chinese Red dates

Ingredients and Instruction

  • 1 beetroot
  • 2 carrot
  • 8 red dates
  • 350g pork ribs
  • 1 corn on cob
  • 2 tablespoon of black eye peas
  1. Peel beetroot and carrot and cut into wedges.
  2. Bring pork ribs in pot to boil for 3 minutes. Rinse with water.
  3. Add all ingredients and 1 litre of water in a pot.
  4. Bring it to boil under high heat and lower to medium heat to cook for another 40-50 minutes.

4. Lingzhi mushroom

Lingzhi Mushroom is an oriental fungus that use to promote health and longevity in China, Japan and other Asian countries. It can further improve overall health effectively and boost your immunity by increasing the activity of white blood cell to fight infection for people with cancer and other diseases such as flu, asthma, bronchitis and liver disease.

Ingredients and Instruction

  • 3-5 grams Lingzhi mushroom (dried, sliced or grounded)
  • 8 slices mint leaves
  • 2 tablespoons honey (optional)
  • 800ml of water
  1. Add Lingzhi mushroom powder or slices into boiled water and boil for 30 minutes.
  2. Off the heat to let mushroom steep in it for half an hour or longer.
  3. Add honey and stir it well.
  4. Filter the mixture into a glass jar and serve.

5. Chinese yam

Chinese Yam is often called shan yao, commonly use to replenish Qi and enhance the spleen, lung and kidney function. It can promote the Qi production and nourish the spleen to improve appetite and child indigestion.

  • 500g Chinese yam
  • 50g pumpkin
  • 3-4 tablespoons of rock sugar
  1. Peel pumpkin and Chinese yam. Cut pumpkin into slices and Chinese yam into small cube.
  2. Infused Chinese yam in water before cook to avoid oxidized into black.
  3. Boil pumpkin or heat in microwave for 5-10 minutes and use spoon to mash the pumpkin and add into soup pot.
  4. Add 1 litre of water and 3-4 tablespoons of rock sugar to cook until boil.
  5. Add Chinese yam and bring it boil until Chinese yam is tender to serve.

6. Chinese wolfberries / Goji Berries

Chinese wolfberries are rich in antioxidant called beta-carotene which is beneficial to improve eyesight, anti-aging and disease fighting effect. It can provide nourish to the skin and improve blood production to enhance your skin complexion.

Ingredients and Instruction

  • 1.5 cup black fungus
  • 1 cup of green, red, yellow bell pepper sliced
  • 2 tablespoons of cilantro chopped
  • 2 tablespoons of almond smashed
  • 1 teaspoon of sesame oil
  • 2 tablespoon black vinegar
  • 2 teaspoon of low sodium light soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon honey as needed
  1. Boil black fungus and cook 2-3 minutes in a boiling water. Rinse with water and drain to set aside.
  2. Mixed and stir the light soy sauce, vinegar, sesame oil, honey in a small bowl well.
  3. Add black fungus and bell pepper into large bowl, pour the sauce on top and topping with cilantro and almonds.
  4. Mix well and serve.

8. Licorice root

Licorice root contain anti-inflammatory and immune boosting properties and is used to relieve gastrointestinal problem such as stomach ulcer, gastritis and heartburn. Ingredients and Instruction

  • 1 litre of water
  • 1.5 tablespoon licorice root
  • 1/2 finger of fresh, sliced, not peeled ginger

  3. Filter with a strainer into jugs.
  4. Ready to serve.
