TCM Bojin Face Therapy
Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM)
About Bojin Face Therapy
According to historical records, Bojin therapy originated during the Three Kingdoms period and is attributed to the renowned physician Hua Tuo.
There was an eighteen-year-old woman with a pimple-covered face and dull, lackluster skin. She sought out the renowned physician Hua Tuo. Miraculously, the woman regained her youthful radiance, with flawless and smooth skin, using a bone joint the thickness of a finger and with a rounded tip.
Taiwanese experts deciphered Hua Tuo’s true teachings after being inspired by the great physician’s true teachings of “treating internal diseases externally.” They extensively practiced and researched this technique in the beauty industry after combining their knowledge of Western medicine regarding muscle direction and lymphatic flow. Thus, Bojin therapy was established. In 2003, “Facial Bojin,” with its more effective actions that penetrated the dermis, swept across the mainland and once again set a new direction for “beauty.”
Aspects of Chinese
TCM Bojin Face Therapy
Facial Bojin
Also known as Facial Meridian Bojin is a specialized therapeutic technique in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), using gentle pressure and manipulation with specialized tools to stimulate specific points on the face, promoting blood circulation, lymphatic drainage, and vital energy flow. It is accomplished by adjusting the qi and blood, relaxing muscles and collaterals, promoting blood circulation and dispelling stasis, cooling the blood and detoxifying, reducing swelling and dispersing nodules, alleviating heat and nourishing the qi to improve complexion and reduce aging.
Benefits
Improved Skin Texture
Bojin therapy may help to promote smoother and more supple skin texture.
Enhanced Blood Circulation
The gentle pressure and manipulation used in Bojin therapy can improve blood circulation in the facial area, potentially bringing more nutrients and oxygen to the skin cells.
Reduced Fine Lines and Wrinkles
By relaxing facial muscles and promoting circulation, Bojin therapy may help reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
Brighter Complexion
The improved blood flow and nutrient supply can lead to a healthier and brighter complexion.
Skin Detoxification
Bojin therapy is believed to assist in removing toxins from the skin through improved lymphatic circulation.
Reduced Puffiness and Swelling
By encouraging lymphatic drainage, Bojin facial treatment may help reduce puffiness and swelling in the face.
Relaxation and Stress Reduction
The soothing and relaxing nature of Bojin therapy can promote overall relaxation and potentially reduce stress levels.
Improved Skin Elasticity
The gentle pressure and manipulation techniques used in Bojin therapy can potentially improve skin elasticity. By encouraging the production of collagen and promoting optimal blood circulation, it can lead to tighter and more robust skin, thereby diminishing the presence of sagging or lax skin.
Complement to Skincare Routine
Bojin facial therapy can be used in conjunction with regular skincare routines to enhance the benefits of skincare products.
Who Should Avoid TCM Bojin Face Therapy
Open wounds or skin infections
If you have open wounds, skin infections, or any contagious skin condition on the face, it’s best to avoid Bojin therapy until the skin has fully healed.
Severe skin allergies
Individuals with severe skin allergies or hypersensitivity may be at risk of adverse reactions to the Bojin treatment.
Active acne breakouts
Applying pressure on active acne lesions may worsen inflammation and lead to further skin problems. It’s better to avoid Bojin therapy during an acne breakout.
Sunburn or skin burns
Facial Bojin should not be performed on sunburned skin or areas with recent burns.
Recent facial surgery
Individuals who have undergone recent facial surgery or cosmetic procedures should avoid Bojin therapy until they have fully recovered and received approval from their healthcare provider.
Skin conditions requiring medical attention
If you have any skin conditions or disorders that require medical evaluation and treatment, it’s crucial to consult with a dermatologist or healthcare professional before considering Bojin therapy.
Pregnancy
Pregnant women should be cautious and consult with their healthcare provider before undergoing any alternative therapy, including facial Bojin.
Certain medical conditions: Individuals with specific medical conditions or chronic illnesses may need to seek advice from their healthcare provider before trying facial Bojin therapy.
Sensitive Skin
For those with particularly sensitive skin or a past of intense skin reactions, it’s recommended to seek advice from a healthcare professional before proceeding with TCM Face Bojin therapy.
Facial Nerve Disorders
Those suffering from disorders affecting facial nerves, such as Bell’s palsy, should refrain from TCM Face Bojin therapy, as the applied pressure and manipulation could potentially exacerbate their condition.
Recent Botox or Fillers
If you’ve recently undergone procedures involving Botox injections or dermal fillers, it’s advisable to allow the effects to fully integrate before considering TCM Face Bojin therapy.
Skin Medications
If you’re using medications or topical treatments that can affect the skin’s resilience, it’s important to consult with your healthcare provider before opting for TCM Face Bojin therapy.
While Bojin facial therapy may have some benefits for facial health, it should not be used in place of professional medical or dermatological treatments for specific skin conditions or concerns. Before attempting Bojin facial treatment, as with any alternative therapy, consult with a qualified practitioner or healthcare professional to ensure it is appropriate for your specific needs and health condition.
